  • Charleston, SC

Just got back from Charleston over the weekend. Missed some to the Oscars because we were still on the road but saw some clips on youtube. I lived in Charleston from age 6 to 12 if I remember. I uploaded the pics from the trip on photobucket. I'm not sure how to post pics but here is the link: http://s444.photobucket.com/albums/qq161/aliases101/?albumview=slideshow . The first pic is of the house on the Charleston Air Force base because my Step-Dad was in the Air force. At age 9 I think, we moved to Summerville, SC to a neighborhood called pebblecreek, that's the second picture. Pictures 4-6 is on market street where local vendors gather to sell stuff they made. My favorite is the basket weavers they make such cool styles. Next time I visit I will have to buy one. Pictures 7-13 are located at the battery which is a place known for the antebellum homes and the pier . I remember the smell of shrimping and crabbing when I was younger. Next time we go we will try to see if we remember how to do it. The Next picture is of the Ice cream shop we would always visit when we were doing out on the water. It's not ice cream but gelato Italian Ice Cream. It's much creamier. The last 3 pics are of some of the souvenirs I got. The first one was made by basket weavers. It's a flower made out of sweet grass it was so cool how they made them. The second one was a sample of jam from Gita's Gourmet food. We would always stop there and get spices for a crab boil to cook what we caught. Her jams are local made and all natural so I got blackberry because I've never tried it before. And the last one was a necklace made from a local jeweler it has a penguin on the end. I wanted to get some glass jewelry there was a cool black one with a skull and cross bone in it. I will get it next time. I love visiting Charleston I was really sad when we moved and will probably move there if I ever settle down. If you ever get the chance you should visit Downtown Charleston just for a day of shopping and then try one of the local restaurants. The seafood will be cheap and fresh because they catch it right there. We will be taking a return trip sometime in the near future.

    My first ticket

When the mail ran yesterday there was nothing for me at least I thought so. There was a letter addressed to my step-dad from the county of Snellville. Equipped with pictures and text it showed my car (that is in his name) turning on a red light 2 seconds after it turned red. I couldn't stop in time and my mom told me to just go anyway it was 2 seconds. I'm so lucky he was at work. So now I have a $70 ticket I have to pay before Feb.9 or he will find out. At least my mom said she will pay half. After this I'm going to be the most cautious driver out there cause this sucks.

With the New Year upon us I thought I should actually use my Xanga account again . My New Year's resolution last year was to go green and do more for the environment. So I purchased a book called "Green Chic: Saving The Earth in Style." So I gave up drinking soda and invested in a reusable water bottle. I started shopping at the local farmers market and eating natural and organic foods. The book recommended me giving up meat but I could not do it but I did manage to eat less meat. No red meat and I eat meat only once a week. I eat a lot more seafood and veggie dishes which are pretty good. I don't eat at fast food restaurants as often as I used to and if I do I go to the sit down restaurants. When it came to clothes shopping I went through my closet and sorted through what I wear and don't wear and gave the don't wear pile to charity. The I started buying all my clothes second hand I now try to buy new clothes only if I need them and can't find them second hand. So last years resolution worked out pretty well I lost some weight too so plus plus.

This year I chose to do more with my social life. Ever since high school ended so did most of my social life. So this year I pledge to get out and do more. I wrapped up my bedside laptop I used to spend hours on there passing the day by and now I'm limited to the household desktop which is usually occupied by someone else most of the time. I volunteered at a local animal shelter because I'm a huge dog lover. I might do foster care my backyard is equipped for it the last owners built a kennel. I'm also going to check out local bands in Atlanta with a friend of mine we used to do that all the time in high school. I also think its about time I entered the work force again (I left the last one cause the bosses were a little shady). I could use the extra cash. I also have a new project in the works I'm trying that should be funny if nothing else, I'll start posting it on here too. So my New Year is hopefully going to keep me busy. I would love to hear you resolutions for 2009. Happy New Year!

    I'VE UPDATED

I have finnaly updated thanks to some persuading (more like threats) from a friend. But she was right i'm long overdue for an update. Where to start.....

Cherelle is now a driver......well at least she will be on May 5 (Cinco De Mayo). I had to get that liscense quick if i'm going to take that trip to the beautiful shores of SC. My friend Cat is going to tag along i'm try to get her to go to an oyster shuck with me. It will probably gross her out.

Also Cherelle has decided to come home. That's right people i'm returning to GA. I don't even know why I left in the first place. A message to my friends if the subject of me leaving ever comes up again just slap me till I come to my senses. I thank you ahead of time.

OK so that's all I got now. Don't worry I will update before the week is out to let you all know how my driving is coming along. Never fear I shall return!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay i'm coming home today. I leave campus today at noon. The sad thing is that my flight doesn't leave till 5:55 so i'll be up their for a while. I guess I could just get something to eat. Then read for a good 3 hours. If i'm lucky I can find a outlet close to a chair and I can play Sims2 to take my mind off things. Cause you play that game then BAM 4 hours are gone like that. Oh well i'll be in Atlanta around 7:22. Yay i'm so happy.

About Me

  • Since the start of 2008 I went green. I changed my diet and my spending habits. But I am still learning so if anyone out there who has been green longer than me advice will be warmly received. Thanks
